When Dan Carter first started working with fireplaces and chimneys he fell in love
with the idea of heating a home without using an oil or gas burning furnace. The
efficiency and reliability were impressive, but it was the look and feel of the
stoves that drove Dan to pursue it as a career. He's constantly pursued certifications
to learn more about the new types of burners and gas logs as new technologies are
introduced.
Dan's spent over 20 years installing and maintaining fireplaces, chimneys,
woodstoves, and gas logs. He's seen a lot of installations and a lot of stoves in
those 20 years. Dan founded Hearth and Stove to use his knowledge and experience to bring the joy of a stove or fireplace to more families in Philadelphia.
After heating thousands of homes in the Philadelphia area, its clear which products
stand up to long term use and which installations provide the safest, most
efficient way to heat a living space. While the design and style of our products
vary a lot from one manufacturer to the next, the reliability and durability of
